Hi everyone.

First of all, thanks to everyone that came out to the Funkstorung show Friday. It was a great success. We all had a great time, and the show was
excellent.

However,

I'm afraid I have some bad news. For the last six months, we've been proud
to present to you our EZRPM series of shows. We brought some excellent fine
music in, and we've given tons of local experimental musicians an
opportunity to showcase their talents for neophiles in and around Central
Florida. We've had some great successes, and it's been a great run. But,
like all things, it must eventually end. And that's what I'm writing to

tell you about.

Some of you may have already heard about the recent... er... drama
concerning the Back Booth. I've had to wait until we had fulfilled our
contractual obligations before saying anything about it, and now that we've
made good on all our committments, I can tell you what's happened. Bear in
mind, this is my account, and all opinions expressed are those of myself,
and not necessarily those of anyone else. Like every story, there's more
than one side. This is mine.

For the last 5 years, Andy Gurjien has been the person responsible for the
operations of the Back Booth. Andy gave it the creative direction. Andy
chose the decor, the layout, the famous selection of fine drafts, and Andy
was primarily responsible for every good thing that happened there. Andy,
through the sheer force of his will, and his good nature, built a community
around the Back Booth, and Andy busted his ass, tirelessly, to make sure

that there was a place that was a testament to the power of community and a
place that provided opportunity to creative, intelligent people. Andy did
great work, and demonstrated himself, again and again, to be the hardest

working man that I know.

Andy had a silent partner, Matt Russell, who had put up capital to build the
business. Andy and Matt had an agreement that Andy would buy out Matt's

interest in the place. For some time now, Andy had approached Matt with

deal after deal. Eventually, Matt found himself in trouble with the law,
with an arrest, for among other things, domestic violence. Because there is
a law that says that anyone convicted of a felony may not hold a liquor
license in Orange County, Matt suddenly had a great impetus to offload the
bar, or risk losing the very sizable investment he'd made in the liquor
license, and by extension, the business. So a deal was hastily drawn up

between himself and Andy - they'd both agreed on the terms. But then, when
Matt's legal problems looked to be clearing up, he decided he wasn't happy
with the deal that had been struck, and backed out. Of course, this
exacerbated the rift betweeen him and Andy.

And then, unexpectedly, Matt decided that Andy was "expendable". Matt
secretly made arrangements to sell the bar to Aaron J. Wright, and
essentially, cut Andy out of the business that he had sacrificed so much in
his life for so long to build.

Aaron J. Wright, a person who's most notable accomplishment was pissing away
$25k of capital from Cell Records in a half-assed attempt to fill the shoes
of an A&R rep, and vocalist for the relatively new local rock band Vegas

Choir Boys, is now in the process of becoming the new owner of the Back
Booth. Aaron has never, to the best of my knowledge, worked in the service
industry, or managed a bar, or any business, for that matter, and I've known
him personally for the better part of 10 years.

So Andy did what any one of us would have done. He walked out of the
business. He took all the staff with him. The promoters walked away with
Andy, the bar backs, the sound engineer, everyone.

And everyone includes us. Andy has been one of our most ardent supporters
since we started the EZRPM series of shows. Andy was the heart and soul of
the Back Booth, and we could not see a universe in which our shows continued
there after the injustice that had been done to our dear friend.

And so, as of now, all our EZRPM shows are cancelled. Anyone that we had
booked is of course welcome to proceed in any way they see fit. If you were
booked, and you wish to re-book your show with the new management, you can
reach Aaron J. Wright at: aaron@vegaschoirboys.com. From what I understand,
he's going to have his friend and bandmate take over booking duties. He can
be reached at bob@vegaschoirboys.com. We settled up all our accounts with
the Back Booth after the Funkstorung show on Friday, and we will no longer
be conducting any business with them at all. Whether any of you choose to
is, of course, up to you. But, remember, if you do choose to do business
with them, you are not going to be doing business with honorable men.

What does the future hold for EZRPM? Well, we're not giving up. We've
already started to investigate the possibility of changing venues and
continuing the series of shows that we love so much. For the immediate
future, we're going to have a bit of a hiatus, to let our livers, our social
calendars, and our sleep schedules get back to normal. :) And then, we'll
be back and better than ever. In the meantime, you can visit our
website
at http://www.ezrpm.com for MP3's, discussion forums, and the latest
information on shows that we're doing.

We want to thank everyone that's come out to our shows for these past six
months. You are the reason that we did it, and you are the reason that
we'll do it again. We owe you. And we are the kind of people that remember
who our friends are.

That's all I have to say about that.

Your friend,

Ian Monroe
